Abstract :
An evaluation of the effectiveness of a night driver support system providing advance notice of pedestrian location is presented. Experimental results indicate an increase of the driver´s visual attention in salient regions and a reduction of the number of collisions by a factor of three. This demonstrates the benefit of the system in improving nighttime driving safety.
