Abstract
A ratio-independent cyclic multiplication digital-to-analog (D/A) conversion technique is described. It is capable of achieving high resolution and high accuracy conversion without requiring any matching of components. The exact number of integer multiplications of the signal required by the conversion is realized through a cyclic multiplication circuit which is implemented through a ratio-independent switched capacitor circuit. The proposed circuit was simulated with SPICE. An 8-b experimental D/A converter has been built with discrete components and tested in the laboratory. The results are in close agreement with the theoretical predictions
