Abstract :
The author describes the modular approach to the design of a data acquisition system that will be a standard module of a custom built test system called multi-channel digitizing event recorder (McDER). This module will simplify the event recorder product testers (ERPTs) design and will reduce the cost of a custom built ERPT system. The design considerations of the McDER module are summarized, the concept of redundant monitoring is presented, and the McDER architecture, control board, data board and timing board are discussed
