Abstract
The implementation of a PDE-based feedback control methodology for structural and structural acoustic systems is discussed in this paper. Control in these systems is obtained via piezoceramic patches on the structure which generate bending moments in response to an applied out of-phase voltage. The incorporation of the patches in a typical structural acoustic system is described by a fully coupled PDE model. The method is then implemented by using data measurements to obtain state estimates (via a compensator) which are then multipled by a feedback gain to obtain controlling voltages
