Abstract
In response to increasing number of threats to communication networks and information technology, such as data leakage or forgery, there is serious activity to give cryptographic countermeasures against threats. But even cryptographic solutions may not be properly implemented; therefore security evaluation standards must cover all requirements in order to neutralize threats. Because side-channel attacks are not presently covered by existent international security standards, the Japanese Research Center for Information Security (RCIS) and Tohoku University of Sendai have together developed the Side-channel Attack Standard Evaluation BOard (SASEBO) Project, which is synthetically described by this paper.
