Abstract :
Here we report the operation of a fiber optical parametric amplifier (OPA) with sufficient gain to overcome fiber loss, exhibiting net signal gain G, and conversion efficiency G1 of the order of 5 dB. We present performance results for amplification and wavelength conversion of IMDD and FSK signals
