Abstract :
The methods and techniques described are of measurements of X-band high power microwave superradiative pulse parameters. The set of the techniques developed in HCEI includes waveguide antennas with improved frequency response, waveguide detectors with subnanosecond time resolution based on thermionic tube diodes as well as based on hot electron effect, alcohol field calorimeter of original design for microwave pulse energy measurement, and simple waveguide heterodyne circuit for measurement of carrier frequency. The methods and procedures of the devices calibration are described as well as the methods and procedures of measurement of microwave pulse peak power up to 2 GW at the pulse duration ~0.7 ns, the pulse energy ~2 J in the carrier frequency band 9 -10 GHz. The methods and techniques were used in experiments for measurements of the parameters of relativistic backward wave oscillator superradiative pulses at the pulse repetition rate 100 Hz and 1-s the pulses batch duration.
