            Abstract : 
The design of FIR amplitude response equalizers using the sharpening technique is proposed. These equalizers are useful in generating low-complexity FIR filters when applied in the prefiltering-equalizer scheme. The relationship between the sharpening of comb filters and the well-known interpolated FIR equalizers is also discussed. Illustrative examples are included
