Abstract :
Until recently, most standard logic ICs were still only available as multiple functions in a single package. Now, by using small outline 5-pin packages such as SOT23 or SC70, standard logic ICs can be purchased as single function, small package devices. Several semiconductor manufacturers now produce these single function, small package devices making the latest IC speeds, drives, and supply voltage levels available for even the most space-constrained applications. This paper discusses the importance, advantages, and uses provided by single-gate logic. Examples of why, where, and how to implement single-gate logic are also provided
