Abstract :
Today´s automobiles with SI engines are equipped with 3-way catalytic converters that purify automobile exhaust emissions. In this paper, we construct a simplified model for the dynamics of 3-way catalyst based on the assumption that catalyst behavior is dominated by the dynamics of O/sub 2/ storage. Then we propose a method for parameter identification of the constructed model.
