            Abstract : 
A signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) estimation algorithm for analog and digital communication systems is presented, which is simple and practical. We modified the existing spectrum-based SNR estimator for analog modulation and applied it to analog and digital modulated signals over the real and complex Additive White Gaussian Noise (AWGN) channel. This is a non-data-aided estimator which can be applied to any modulated signals, which is a feature that is not common in the existing estimators. The performance of the new SNR estimator is investigated by computer simulation under different analog and digital bandpass modulated signals.
