Abstract
In this paper, we propose a joint cooperative multiplexing and user scheduling approach over wireless relay networks. While multiuser diversity gain is achieved in traditional opportunistic scheduling techniques, the proposed method achieves both gains from multiuser diversity and multiplexing simultaneously. Theoretical bounds of the achievable throughput for the proposed method are obtained and verified to approach the simulation results very well. Performance comparison shows that the proposed method significantly outperforms traditional opportunistic techniques in terms of spectral efficiency.
