Abstract :
The aim of this paper is suitable locating minimum number of transmitter antennas to provide adequately signal coverage in a given indoor environment. To calculate the Received Signal Strength (RSS) according to channel parameters a Ray-Tracing Engine (RTE) is realized. This engine integrated with Genetic Algorithm (GA) provides an intelligent system in optimization process. The optimum location of transmitter(s) is determined using Genetic Algorithm (GA). Each corner of every room contains a receiver. This provides freedom in furniture placement. According to Simulation results a full coverage is achieved through suitably locating three transmitters. Furthermore, GA avoids the time consuming process of antenna location finding in an exhaustive search method.
