  • Abstract
A new set of FIR median hybrid (FMH) filter structures which have multiple predictive substructures is studied. The focus of the study is on a particular case of the filter with five linear subfilters. The root length of the filter for square pulses is derived. A meaningful measure for pulse discrimination characteristics is introduced. The sine wave response is determined. An efficient implementation structure with a complexity independent of the filter length is shown
