Abstract
Summary form only given. A two-dimensional Particle in Cell code with Monte Carlo collisions (PIC-MCC) (XOOPIC) is used to model breakdown of a Ne/Xe gas in one and two cell plasma display panel (PDP) systems. The priming pulse for a three electrode AC PDP is simulated in order to address various issues concerning the optimal geometry and breakdown voltages as well as to avoid poor operating characteristics such as neighbor discharges and cross talk.
