Abstract :
Image comparison is one of the essential processes in the field of image processing. Sometime it is necessary to compare two images to estimate the similarity and dissimilarity between them. This paper describes a method to estimate the structural similarity and dissimilarity of the given two images. The structural outlines of the given images are compared by registering the images based on Fourier Mellin transformation technique. In this method, the overlapping similarity and hausdorff distance measures are computed to compare the images. The performance of this proposed method is evaluated before and after registering the images. The experimental result shows that the proposed image comparison method produces accurate comparison result.
