Abstract :
This work proposes a new phase frequency detector, which completely eliminates the “blind zone” by avoiding generating the reset signal when the input phase error is out of the range of [-π, π]. The proposed phase frequency detector possesses a beneficial nonlinear transfer characteristic and can speed up the lock acquisition of a phase-locked loop effectively.
