  • Abstract
Using representation of an input field by the way of spectrum of propagating modes or ray tubes, we propose the modal and geometrical optics procedures for calculation of a irradiative propagation in oversized hollow circular waveguides at their excitation by linearly polarized Gaussian beams. Theoretically and experimentally conditions of optimum excitation are founded and the polarization degree of an output beam is determined at its waveguide transmission.
