Abstract :
Summary form only given. A new generation of all-solid-state FID switches has been developed. New switches feature the turn-on time of 10-20 ps and the peak power of several megawatts. Experimental research of operating specifications has been performed. Methods of forming pulses with amplitude of up to 10 kV and rise time of 10-20 ps have been determined. On the base of new switches a series of picosecond pulse generators with output voltage amplitude of 3, 5, 10 kV, rise time of 10-20 ps, pulse duration at half maximum amplitude of 30-50 ps has been developed. The achieved pulse repetition rate is 100 kHz. Jitter is about 4-6 ps.
