Nearly 20 years, rapid economic development in Chengdu City, while the ecological environment has also suffered unprecedented coercive pressure. Based on the eco-economic resilience model which is established through the theory of elasticity, from 1987 to 2006, eco-economic resilience of Chengdu City was analyzed in this paper, results showed that nearly 20 years, the eco-economic resilience of Chengdu City all showed a downward trend. Ecological footprint growth rate also showed a downward trend, and lower than the GDP growth rate, indicating over the past 20 years, with the economic rapid growth while resource utilization has been markedly improved, the dependence of economic development for the resource was gradually reduced, the Pressures on the environment was also gradually reduced. Through the analysis on Chengdu City´s eco-economic resilience nearly 20 years, some countermeasures including Controling the size of the population, adjusting the industrial structure, changing the production and consumption patterns, and improving land use efficiency were proposed.
