Abstract :
This paper examines the synchrophasor data for 221 generating unit trips in ERCOT over the time period during September 2009 through June 2010. Specifically, the phase angle variation between West Texas (i.e., wind country) with regard to central ERCOT is studied. The results show no clear relationship between wind generation and damped resonant frequency (f) or normalized damping ratio (ζ).
