Abstract :
This paper proposes an immediate allocation with reallocation (IAR) algorithm for a dynamic bandwidth allocation of 10-gigabit-capable passive optical networks (XGPONs). IAR iterates scheduling with the unused bandwidth when bandwidth remains unused after the first scheduling. Moreover, IAR assigns an additional polling bandwidth to a queue in order to improve scheduling efficiency. Using simulations, we show the proposed method improves performance compared to existing methods.
