            Abstract : 
A new analytical expression for the variance of resulting quantization error at the output of a recursive cascade filter is proposed. The final results are given according to the filter´s type and its order (even or odd). A design methodology for optimal recursive filters with minimum resulting error is presented aimed also to facilitate the computational process. A detailed numerical example is given, too
