Abstract
A hybrid regulator with boost charge pump and Low-Dropout Linear Regulation is proposed in this paper. The designed circuit can consistently supply the output voltage at 3.6V when the input voltage is varied from 3.0V to 4.2V. The work mode is determined by the output voltage. When it remains in 3.6V, LDO serves as the power supply; On the condition that the output voltage drops below 3.6V, the structure works as a charge pump. This power supply can drive a load current varies from 1uA to 10mA. Simulations designed in UMC 0.18μm CMOS process in good agreement with the theoretical results are also shown.
