Abstract :
The authors represent information as patterns and investigate pattern recognition as one of the intellectual information processing methods. The pattern classification method is applied to a simulated problem: the selection of a male image which would be popular with a woman. They comment on advantages and limitations of pattern classification with a linear discrimination function by using a method based on a Bayesian discrimination standard: Uesaka´s method (1990)
