Abstract :
Attempt to achieve multicast reliability in adhoc networks is usually foiled during tree/mesh reconfiguration - a frequent repair activity. This has impaired the quality of packets delivered during transmission via a protocol that requires partial/complete knowledge of the group location. Bimodal multicast employed gossip techniques, and we extended this concept by proposing anonymous gossip, in our initial research results to alleviate the resulting problems during reconfiguration. Congestion controlled anonymous gossip (CCAG) was designed to be implemented on any tree/mesh based protocol. In this paper, we present the result of implementing CCAG on MAODV as the underlying protocol and through simulation; compare the result of both protocols in the same environment considering the packet delivery ratio (PDR), latency and the control overhead as the guiding parameters.
