Abstract
Summary form only given. Practical electrical devices made from massive conductors of a small skin depth are considered. These are the toroidal inductor of the pulse forming network and the pulse transformer with a massive screening turn. The frequency range was determined, in which the impedances of these devices correspond to the approximated asymptotic solutions for a small skin depth. The results of calculation and measurements were compared, and the peculiarities of transients caused by the magnetic field penetrating into the metal of massive conductors were revealed. The conditions of the transients were defined, under which the skin effect should be taken into account.
