Abstract :
The paper deals with sensorless control of a switched reluctance motor (SRM). The sliding mode observer is used for the speed estimation of the SRM. Simulation and experimental verification of the observer based method confirm very good estimation of the rotor position and speed estimation of the SRM. This method is suitable for the area of middle and higher speeds of the SRM. In the paper, experimental results of the electrical drive with the SRM SR90 are presented. The sensorless control algorithms are implemented into microcomputer control system with the digital signal processor Freescale.
