Abstract :
With the increasing trend of wind energy in the power system, the significant impacts for system operation are got more attentions. Electrical energy storage provides a satisfied solution on peak shaving operation and reliability enhancement. This paper gives a general procedure on optimal the location of storage unit in a power system with wind energy. More flexible changes could implement in the future research. Wind generation is modeled probabilistically using actual wind speed historical data. The probabilistic optimal power flow is aim to minimize the operation cost and a more reasonable scheme is applied. Then the genetic algorithm is used for maximizing the charging energy and selecting the desired location for a storage unit. At the same time CO2 price is considering. The proposed method is applied on a modified IEEE 24-bus system.
