Abstract :
An analytical approach for determining forces between bulk high-temperature superconductors and a linear motor is described. A comparison is made between vehicles containing superconductors separated by 1/2 and 1 pole-pitch respectively. Measurements are made on a prototype Maglev system to verify the analytical calculations.
