Abstract
In this paper, the noise canceling technique is proposed to enhance the performance of ultrasound low noise amplifier (LNA). This not only diminishes effectively noise figure (NF) but also increases voltage gain. Besides, by utilizing this methodology, the proposed LNA can have lower power consumption than the conventional one does. An ultrasound LNA example designed in TSMC 0.18-μm CMOS process shows 4.9 dB NFmin, 20 dB voltage gain and close to 100 MHz - 3-dB bandwidth with 20.3 mW power consumption.
