Abstract :
This paper proposes a method for monitoring proper function of light emitting diodes (LED) in railway optical signals, based on measurement of its I-V characteristics with specific driving of its currrent source. Dual channel redundant monitoring circuit measures and monitors the proper function of LED and its supply converter and and sends the information on its state to the upper level interlocking system.
