Abstract :
Reliability is a very important target of induction machines. Because of the complexity of the fault modes and fault mechanism, as well as its long life, it will cost too much time and money to determine the reliability of induction machine with a laboratory test. In a laboratory, it is very difficult to simulate the factual operation condition accurately. To verify the reliability of induction machines, we prefer to use field methods. In this paper, the fault modes, effects and criticality is analyzed, the fault evidences is established, the distributions of the motor´s life and fault rate are estimated, and then, to verify the reliability, a new field test method is introduced with a case.
