Abstract :
The reliability of a new multiprocessor interconnection network (symmetric hypernet) is determined and compared with the reliability of existing hypercube and hypernet structures. The reliability model is based on the clustering approach where a hypercube/hypernet of a higher dimension is first decomposed into smaller cubes until the reliability of the smallest cube is modeled exactly by means of the spanning tree approach. Clusters of these cubes are combined recursively until the reliability of the network under consideration is determined
