Abstract :
The intracell interference (ICI) affects the system capacity and quality of the received signal. In OVSF CDMA systems, one of the factors that determine ICI is the set of selected codes to be used simultaneously in a cell. A base station can have several connections with different data rates. This can be achieved using single code transmission or multicode transmission with either single code length or multiple code length. The appropriate selection of the codes set causes a gain in the system capacity, keeping the location of the current sites without increasing the complexity of the user equipments. This work explores the correlation between OVSF codes in multipath environments by using an exhaustive method to evaluate the set of OVSF codes in order to achieve the demanded channel rates and reduce the intracell interference.
