Abstract
Summary form only given. For the Forschungszentrum Rossendorf (FZR) in Dresden, Germany, Rheinmetall Waffe Munition GmbH realized a Pulsed Power Facility (PPF) for fundamental research. The PPF delivers the energy for the generation of pulsed high-magnetic-fields, in excess of 100 T, by an inductive load. The PPF consists of 19 modules with a total storable energy of up to 49 MJ. This energy is applied to the load in a wide range of parameters: pulse shape, pulse length. In the paper the requirements for the PPF to generate the high-magnetic-fields in various conditions and the solution with 2 types of power modules with different capacitance and inductance are discussed.
