Abstract :
Summary form only given. A large-signal analysis was used to model nonlinear effects of a ring-bar TWT associated with the growth of the signal wave such as intermodulation. The analysis was developed using 1-D nonlinear Eulerian electron beam equations as well a Lagrangian model. The impedance interaction and the phase velocity were obtained from the solution of the field problem for the cold ring-bar TWT. The plasma frequency reduction factor was calculated using Rowe approach. The set of first order differential equation describing the physics of TWT problem, written as state equations, was integrated using Runge-Kutta techniques. From this analysis it was possible to describe the intermodulation distortion generation and suppression.
