Abstract :
A research program for systematic investigation of the influence of different system parameters on additional bearing currents at inverter-operation has been set up. This paper discusses the influence of the cable type and of different mitigation techniques such as filters and insulated as well as hybrid bearings on the bearing current phenomena for power levels 11 kW to 500 kW. The impact of these parameters depends significantly on the type of bearing current occurring and hence on the motor size.
