Abstract
Based on the Chongqing data from 1979 to 2009, this paper performs an empirical research according to VAR modle and the results of vector error correction model (VECM), it draws a conclusion that there is a long-term equilibrium between the two variables, EE has great impress on economics, the elasticity is 0.5451. The results also reveal that there is a bi-directional causality between EI and GDP.
