The paper examines the use of different digital design and fabrication technologies in design education. A framework for adopting these technologies has been developed and applied in a computational design studio for a mixed cohort of tertiary architecture and industrial design students. A comprehensive survey was conducted over two years as a means for evaluation. This paper discusses about the outcomes of the studio and the student perceptions of applying these computational technologies in design. The paper provides insight into the use of computational technologies in design education, supported by a qualitative analysis of the survey.
