  • Abstract
This paper investigates AC or DC power modulation in wind power with HVDC delivery in damping inter-area oscillations. Two approaches of oscillation damping are examined: 1) wind generation real power modulation through its power electronic converters, and 2) HVDC rectifier power modulation. A two-area test system is built in TSAT. The two approaches are described in details. Controller design, eigenvalue analysis and time-domain simulations are carried out to demonstrate the two approaches and their effects.
