Abstract
A simple token bus protocol with priority is proposed. The basic idea behind this new protocol is to pass the token to a station in the same (higher) priority class with a probability p i, and to a different (lower) priority class with probability less than p i. Results of a simple analysis for the case of no load show that the priority scheme is effective and the average walk time around the logical ring can be tailored to the priority of the station
