Abstract
In the light of the idea underlying the instrumental sensor method (ISM) (Wang Bu-hong et al., Proc. IEEE Int. Symp. Phased Array Systems and Technology, p.182-6, 2003), an efficient and feasible calibration method for the mutual coupling of a ULA is proposed. The calibration method employs two carry-on instrumental sensors separated far apart from the original ULA and a pilot source in an unknown direction. The calibration method is realized just via a one-dimensional search, and the pilot source in a known direction is not necessary any more. Simulation results are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness and behavior of the proposed method.
