Abstract :
The paper presents a novel channel estimation algorithm with a PN sequence employed in TD-SCDMA systems. At the transmitter, a training sequence is designed with a PN sequence as described in the 3GPP specifications, and, at the receiver, the proposed algorithm is employed to estimate the channel response. The algorithm makes use of the correlation property of PN sequences to maximize the estimation gain. Thanks to the characteristics of PIN sequences, the algorithm considerably decreases the computational load with quality. The performance and computation are analyzed and compared with those of traditional algorithms. The simulation results compare the performance of the two estimation algorithms.
