Abstract :
In interior design, there are some basic guidelines or rules to follow. A program, called `Interior Design Expert´ (IDX), is introduced. It is an intelligent CAD system for interior design. IDX goes beyond typical CAD systems. Using AI techniques, it analyzes a design, extracts relevant spatial relationships, applies high-level design rules to the resulting internal representation, and then generates intelligent design suggestions
