Abstract :
A Japanese government scientific research funding has been directed toward the promotion of an advanced plant production system involving intensive IT applications. Key technologies focused in the research are speaking plant approach, soft-sensing, and WWW networking. An example of the speaking plant approach including soft-sensing of leaf surface temperature and Web based data handling is discussed in this article.
