  • Abstract
    A new fail-safe node using transputers for application in railway signaling systems is reported. This fail-safe node provides fault tolerance and safe reaction, which are required for railway signaling systems. The basic scheme of the fail-safe node is discussed, together with the concepts of leadership based on rotation, recovery in the fail-safe node, reconfiguration, and safe shutdown
