Abstract :
In this work, we present a novel 4-shaped 2×1 compact dual-band MIMO antenna system that covers the low LTE band of 858-920 MHz and a high band covering 2955-3130 MHz that is suitable for next generation mobile and handheld wireless terminals. The proposed MIMO antenna system size is only 50×50×0.8 mm3 which is 50% smaller in size than those that appeared in literature. In addition, most of the systems proposed in literature cover a single band, while the proposed one is a dual-band system, with tuning capability. The dual-band 4-shaped MIMO antenna was fabricated and characterized in a laboratory environment. A maximum gain of -2 dBi was obtained.
