Abstract
Four major issues in uncertainty management of expert systems (ESs) using stochastic Petri nets (SPNs) that represent logical connectivity in a set of uncertain information are addressed. The uncertainty of different types that are common in expert domains is discussed. SPN models are represented by matrix configurations for analysis of the stability of the decisions. The stability analysis of such an ES based on SPN with cycles is studied. A case study is presented with reference to problems in decision making
