Abstract
An analysis of a priority channel allocation in a cell for a mobile radio telephone system by means of signal-flow graphs is presented. This cellular mobile radio telephone system considers queuing of both new calls and handoff calls, adopting priority channel allocation for the handoff call over the new call, and reserving a few channels for the handoffs. The performance, including the blocking probability of new call attempts, the failure probability of handoff call attempts, and the probability of calls forced into termination during conversation are obtained. Optimal channel allocation is determined according to proposed performance criteria
